All members of Musical Theatre Productions, who are in good standing, are welcome to attend these meetings and vote on the issues at hand. Non-members may purchase memberships at the door ($25 for a 12-month period) on the evening of the meeting. It is at this meeting that the members are presented with the previous year’s financial statements along with a statement of the financial position for the month end immediately preceding the date of the meeting.

The President presents an Annual Report and the Board provides the assembly with information on any major situations that have occurred during the previous year along with an outline of its future plans. An election is held to fill any vacancies that exist on the Board of Directors at the time.

At the meeting we will be holding elections for membership to the Board of Directors. If you are interested in running for a position please e-mail Matthew Wilson at president@musicaltheatreproductions.ca.

Groups of 10 or more – $20 (all tickets must be for same performance)

Prepaid tickets may be picked up at the door on the day of the performance. Tickets are also available at the door, however, please be aware that walk-ups are not guaranteed tickets or preferred seating – all tickets are subject to availability on a first come, first served basis only.

Proposals for all types of musicals will be considered. The proposal deadline for the 2012-2013 season is April 1st, 2012.

Gilbert and Sullivan operetta’s have been an annual London tradition since 1955. First staged by the Gilbert and Sullivan Society, then produced by Theatre Western (University Students’ Council), then in partnership between London Musical Theatre and Theatre Western, and finally in partnership with the Don Wright Faculty of Music at Western.

In future, Musical Theatre Productions will produce these operettas on its own and at the Palace Theatre. London’s tradition of producing Gilbert and Sullivan operettas is the second oldest in all of Canada, with the 2004 production of The Mikado having marked the 50th Anniversary!

Cast size is usually 35 – 40 including all major and minor lead roles. We rent professional costumes for a dramatic and authentic period look and we hire a full orchestra to bring the music to life.

ABOUT THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Board of Directors is elected by the members of Musical Theatre Productions at the Annual General Meeting held each year in July. Although the Board’s complement is a minimum of seven (7) and a maximum of thirteen (13), it presently consists of seven (7) members. The terms are staggered with each newly elected member serving a three-year term unless he/she is simply completing the balance of the term of a member who has left office.

The Executive is chosen by the Board at its first meeting following the Annual General Meeting. The President, Vice-President and Secretary are each appointed for a one year term while the Treasurer is appointed indefinitely and continues to serve at the pleasure of the Board.

Meetings of the Board are held on the third Monday of each month with additional meetings called as required. Board members who are not in attendance at three consecutive meetings, without good reason, may be removed from the Board.
